It is the philosophy of Herndon Recovery Center Residential program that chemical dependency is a disease that affects the whole person; spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Recovery is defined as “Learning to live comfortably without the use of mood- or mind-altering drugs or alcohol.

Our philosophy is that chemical dependency is also a family disease. Therefore, the need to make healthy changed in the family unit is stressed by encouraging family members and/or significate others to attend Herndon Recovery Center family program. The family members are also encouraged to attend Al-Anon and/or Nar-Anon meetings.

Herndon Recovery Center also believes that a signify ate number of individuals with chemical addiction also suffer from underlying co-morbid [psychiatric disorders. It is the philosophy of Herndon Recovery Center that simultaneous treatment of co-occurring psychiatric disorders will further help an addicted individual to learn effective skills to stay clean and sober.

• Residential inpatient programs offer the best possible change at long-term sobriety. Patients live 24 hours a day in a private, convertible facility with a highly structured, customized addiction treatment plan. A typical stay is 28 days, but length of stay is ultimately dependent on the patients needs. The program includes individual and group therapy, addiction education, 12-step meetings and family support sessions.
• Partial day Treatment programs offer patients the intensity of a residential program, but the ability to return home in the evenings. Patients meet six days per week with two three-three-hour sessions per day. Length of stay is based on the patient’s unique individual needs. The program includes individual group therapy, addiction education, 12-step meetings, and family support sessions.
• Intensive outpatient programs are flexible and offer patients the opportunity to interact in their daily work/school/home environment while benefitting from a structured and supportive therapeutic program. Patients in this program meet three days a week, three hours per day for eight weeks. The program includes individual group therapy, addiction education, 12-step meetings, and family support sessions.
