Harminder Boparai Sculptor

Hi there! My name is Harminder Singh Boparai, I am from India and currently living in Michigan, US. I come from a small village Ghudani Kalan in the province of Punjab. With acute intensity and warm sensitivity I attune my imagination into form, pick it up and turn it over to be transformed with every turn and during the process the material merges the emotive and the external with a personal touch. I reuse material which later turns into admirable pieces of art. I have won several awards including the Gold Medal in Zonal Level Competition, 2001, 2002 by Punjab University, Patiala; Gold Metal in Inter Zonal Competition, 2002 held in Punjabi University, Piatiala; Appreciation Certificate by Lalit Kala Academy Punjab, 2011. Best art work award from Delhi International Film Festival, 2012; Award 2012 Lalit Kala Academy Punjab; National Art I con Award 2012 from Hammer Art Tag in AIFACS, Delhi; Award of Excellence 2014 from Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar. I moved to the United States of America six years ago and I wish to pursue my art career here as well. After I moved here I have done many exhibitions in popular museums and I have gotten sponsored solo art shows by Van Singel Fine Art Center in 2016 and Holland Area Arts Council in 2018. I have also gotten the opportunity to participate in Art Prize for the past three years and I have loved sharing my work with others and I wish to continue this and learn from other artists in the community.
